Gajraj the elephant’s heartbreaking story began when he was taken from the wild in 1965. He was then forced to travel 800-kilometre journey from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, for a month and a half to Aundh village in the Satara district of Maharashtra, India, where he lived for over 51 years in chains.
